A Yarn With A Farmer

The Tasmanian Wool Centre is having a week to celebrate wool from 15th to 19th May 2017. Every week day there will be a guest speaker who will sit in the wool exhibition area from 11am to 12.30pm and chat to visitors about their role in the industry.

Monday 15th May– Robin Flood (Shearing contractor and trainer)
Tuesday 16th May– Georgina Wallace ( Stud Merino Breeder and Chair of the Australian Association of Stud Merino Breeders)
Wednesday 17th May– Josiane Eve (Member of the Hand weavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild and involved in the Bothwell Spin-in. Josiane now runs a mob of Tasmanian Moorit Brown coloured sheep after completing various degrees in agriculture and wool science and classing)
Thursday 18th May  – Nan Bray (A departure from a science background in the USA brought Nan to the midlands area of  Oatlands to start a new chapter as a wool grower. Nan has a holistic approach to the care and management of her sheep. White Gum Wool grew out of Nan’s desire to produce yarn from her sheep and has become a great success)
Friday 19th May  – Alistair Calvert (State Manager and Marketing Manager for Roberts Wool Division who plays a pivotal role in the promotion of the Tasmanian Merino throughout the world)
