A Tribute to Dr Blackall

The Grove Library will be hosting an exhibition of the life and times of community doctor, William Blackall. Thanks to the skills of the Western Australian Herbarium and the dedication of the Blackall family these unique illustrations and paintings can be viewed publicly for the first time.

A well-loved local identity who diligently served the needs of the Cottesloe, Peppermint Grove and Mosman Park community during the first half of the 20th Century. Along with his colleague Nurse Grono, he welcomed a large number of local residents into the world at the Private Hospital, Devonleigh. The exhibition will outline his medical achievements, his life, his travels and offer an insight into his work as a 20th century wildflower illustrator.
